IMI Games Portal
WEBMOBILEGAMEIMI Games is a live hyper-casual gaming portal and the first platform of its kind in Sri Lanka to deliver localized, curated HTML5 mini-games through both mobile and web — bringing over 100 games to players through a React PWA and a Flutter Android app. Built for the Sri Lankan market with Sri Lankan players in mind, it set the benchmark for localized casual gaming in the country.
The Portal
The React PWA — built with Redux Toolkit, Material UI, and a large shared codebase — delivers the full game library as an installable progressive web app accessible from any browser. The Flutter Android app packages the same experience natively for Android users. Both platforms are live and serving real users. Games load seamlessly inside each surface — the Flutter app opens titles in a WebView, the React PWA embeds them via iFrame — keeping the game runtime consistent while each shell adapts to its platform natively. Third-party integrations including Facebook Login, Firebase Google Login, and Firebase Dynamic Links were woven into the platform to enhance user identity, engagement, and deep linking across sessions.
Frontend Engineering
Working within a large codebase alongside a small team, the React PWA was built with a strong emphasis on reusability and cohesion. A library of reusable components and custom React hooks kept the codebase clean and efficient at scale. RESTful APIs were integrated through Redux Toolkit for predictable state management, and unit tests were written throughout to ensure reliability. Development followed Agile methodology with Scrum practices, and a leadership role was taken on — guiding junior developers, conducting code reviews, and maintaining overall codebase quality.
Game Development
Ten 2D hyper-casual games were built from scratch using Pixi.js, each requiring a solid grasp of game mechanics, physics, and mathematics to deliver genuinely challenging and immersive gameplay. Every game was optimised for performance across a wide range of devices — ensuring smooth, consistent play whether on a flagship Android phone or a low-end browser.
Player Features
The portal includes player login, score tracking, and global leaderboards — giving users a persistent identity and a reason to compete, return, and climb the rankings across the full game library.
